Do not place yourself in jeopardy of being arrested for additional criminal charges while current charges are pending.
Do not approach any judge or prosecutor about your case, and do not send third persons to make such contact for you.
Do not speak with the press unless you and your attorney have specifically discussed the idea and determined it a good course of action.
Always assert your constitutional rights to remain silent and to have an attorney present if anyone should want to question you, detain you, or conduct a search of your person or property. Never allow yourself to be intimidated or talked into waiving your rights.
